My Leadership Field Quest
An inquiry into leadership beyond the individual. Into the field, the relationships, and the conditions in which another kind of leadership emerges and coherence becomes tangible.

Under the right conditions, a leadership field can emerge in which a different kind of development becomes possible. Not only for the individual leader, but for the organization as a whole. Field awareness brings the whole into view. And that opens up possibilities for a more holistic perspective on the role and functioning of leadership in organizations.
In a time of increasing complexity, rapid change, and systemic pressure, classical leadership models fall short. The world is changing, but our thinking about leadership isn’t keeping pace. Leadership is still too often seen as an individual quality, something you either develop or ‘naturally have’. But today’s challenges, like transitions, AI, cultural change, and generational differences, can’t be solved within the perspective of the individual leader.
Leadership therefore calls for a different kind of attention: a systemic awareness that focuses on the relationships between the parts of the whole. Instead of seeing leaders as the primary carriers of change, we can explore which conditions within the organization make change possible in the first place. In this way, the focus shifts from the individual to the field in which leadership can thrive.
A field is a living space, a place where interaction, resonance, and movement take place. This is no different in organizations. Leadership manifests itself in the space between and around people: in the alignment, the trust, and the language through which we work together. Many leadership programs still focus on the individual, while the real leverage lies in the relationships, structures, and underlying assumptions that shape the organization’s field. As a result, what unfolds in the in-between space often remains invisible, precisely where leadership comes to life.
Leadership in all its forms can grow In organisations where there is space to try things out and connect the dots with others. Where do you start and what would it take to work on this?
What draws me to the idea of a leadership field is its openness — it doesn't offer a fixed model, but a space where we can explore together. It encourages us to stay with the questions a bit longer rather than rushing forward to answers.
This website follows that spirit. It isn’t a place for final truths, but an invitation to look closer and notice the patterns that allow and nurture other kinds of leadership.
If this resonates with you, you’re welcome to join in — to think, to write, to explore. The field grows richer as more voices find their place within it.
